English translation

Fade away

When I close my eyes, the pain slowly descends on me.
It’s like hearing an unpleasant tune,
the pain comes from under your feet,
now that’s my requiem.

I even forget to think about tomorrow.

Just like stardust disappears,
no one can notice how I
Fade away, bursting into tears.
The mocking voice of those guys,
a sound that can shorten your life.
What’s correct? The future is invisible.

If I look around, I see the frigid city widening.
Did your heart get paralyzed too?
Unless you’re just having a nightmare.
I wish it was the same for me.

I hate to have the same tears of yesterday.

Like a shark breaking through the sea
and catching its prey,
I get eaten, shredded.
With my core swallowed deeply by
deception and a visceral falsehood,
I lose my form and turn into something else,
running loose in the city.

If like a baby sleeping in the warmth of his mother,
a rain of affection passed through me,
would a corner of my heart start to throb again?

Just like stardust disappears,
no one can notice how I
Fade away, bursting into tears.
The mocking voice of those guys,
a sound that can shorten your life.
What’s correct? The future is invisible.

Kanji (credits:j-lyric)

Fade away

Fade away

Fade away

Thank you. What is your interpretation of this song’s meaning. I didn’t ask this question for White wedding and Hoshi ni negai wo because I thought it was clear those two were love songs.

      You’re welcome!
This one totally sounds like depression to me. There’s especially a pessimistic feeling towards people and the city around. But it’s also expressed the wish for a glimmer of light… I think he still wants something (or rather someone) to cling to.
I hope my words are clear enough haha I don’t feel I’m that good at explaining my interpretations.
